To support the government’s zero-tolerance policy on drunk driving, the Hsinchu Branch continues to actively enforce DUI penalty cases while promoting alcohol addiction treatment assistance. An obligor from Hsinchu County was fined NT$45,000 for drunk driving. Although enforcement efforts initially yielded no results, repeated communication and supportive engagement encouraged the obligor to accept a referral for alcohol addiction treatment. The individual has since begun psychological counseling and medical treatment, demonstrating the branch’s integrated approach of combining enforcement with rehabilitation to reduce repeat DUI offenses.
